Update: Vehicle Build Sheet Report (VBSR)
Since 2005, 8er owners have requested the "expanded" Vehicle Build Sheet Report (VBS-R). On September 14, there will be a queue update that requires "reconfirmation" by each 8er owner.
Originally known as the "expanded" build sheet report, this report is provided by the BMW 8 Series Registry. The VBS-R extends the current information culled from the Inventory Project and provides additional insights for a particular 8er, such as:
- Number of vehicles in a particular color, upholstery, and color combination along with the sequential build (e.g. This 8er is the 5th Lila Metallic built out of 7 produced).
- Number of vehicles with particular options.
- Sequential chassis number information.
- ...and much more.
Over 96 requests were received since 2005 and 36 are now completed with 60 requests in queue. There will be a new version of the VBS-R that is currently in development and will be made available to the remaining 59 8er owners. No new VBS-R requests will be accepted until January 1, 2008. (UPDATE: VBS-R requests are now delayed until February 1, 2008)
All current 8er owners that requested a VBS-R will need to login and reveiw the list of chassis numbers in queue for their vehicle. If their chassis number is evident, then they will need to contact the registrar via the webpage feedback form to re-confirm their desire for a build sheet.
